I popped in to one of the Op Shops up the street the other day and found this amazing piece of fabric in the fabric bin. It's a Warwick 100% cotton length. Great quality fabric ~ I have a lounge suite covered in Warwick cotton! So, given that my ironing board cover is very tatty looking, that's where this is destined to end up. Soon....I hope!!!!

Tracy, that is a lucky find. Looking forward to seeing the final product.....(not to put too much pressure on you or anything....)Lisa x
Very pretty. I've heard the term OP shop a few times. I'm assuming that it's a second-hand store? Thrift shops they are called here in the states.
very pretty fabric :)
Op Shop = Opportunity Shop. Don't know why they're called that really, but yes, they are 2nd hand stores. Over here a lot of them are run by charities, and those charities use the money earned to help needy & underprivileged people.
I've also used some 100% cotton high-quality upholstery fabric on a new ironing board. It worked great. However, for padding I cut an old, clean mattress pad to size before covering. If you can find a cotton mattress pad, they work best.
Thanks for that tip Gypsy Quilter.
The other thing I had though is maybe wool quilt batting. I need to buy some for a knee quilt I'm hoping to start quilting *soon*. I figured wool would stand up to the temperatures. What do you think?
Great find, Tracy. Can't wait to see the finished product!!
Beautiful Fabric, Tracy. It will make a beautiful ironing board cover. Can't wait to see it finished!
